FOUR LITTLE WORDS

FOUR LITTLE WORDS

Four little words,

For better or worse.

She charged the battery for his wheelchair and

went into what used to be her sewing room for his oxygen and

an electric rush flashed through her head.

She stared bewildered at the sleeping man.

Four little words

raced through the woman’s brain like electrons:

Shall I kill him?

One Response to FOUR LITTLE WORDS

  1. Oh…so you are a next door neighbor! Guess I should have read YOU prior to posting my response to your response! (smile)..yes…the poem above…i am sure it occurs in the minds of those who see so much suffering done in the name of humane treatment…it makes me recall the painful death of my brother, Bill, two months ago…unnecessary treatment that caused him more pain in the end…He was a year younger than myself.
